A long night of Connect Four, college kids and cover bands

After our highly successful and insightful explorations of Orchard Street, Smith Street, Ninth Avenue, Tribeca and Murray Hill, we headed uptown for the newest installment of Bar Shots, our series that navigates an area of town and the bars (and people) that populate it.

This time around, we made our way to the bars of the Upper West Side on a balmy Thursday night. Sure, the neighborhood has a reputation for being a mine field of strollers and leashes, but it is it teeming with nightlife? —Cristina Velocci
