Without really having to think twice about it, we knew the best place to watch Poland´s World Cup matches would be Broad Street in New Britain.
The area is, after all, the commercial and social center for a sizable Polish population consisting of both long-time residents and recent immigrants. We knew the street was lined with businesses offering Polish food and drink.
We just didn´t know which Broad Street spot would be the place to watch a soccer match.
Of course, that´s just because we hadn´t been to the area in a while and had missed the March opening of the Stadion Café at 82 Broad St. Not that you need to know the address to find the place; you could just look for the giant soccer ball (painted in the same red and white as the Polish flag) above the café´s front door.
At Stadion, you´ll feel like you´ve been transported to a Polish soccer club. The walls are adorned with team paraphernalia. They´ve got Okocim, a popular Polish beer, on tap. Rest assured, the place will be jumping come game day.
