A small yet comfortable, downtown New Haven sports bar with dozens of TVs that attracts college students and locals alike.
Housed on the corner of George and Temple streets in what appeared to be, well… a house, TK's seems a little dark and less than inviting, at first. But once inside the small clapboard dwelling, the cafe's sports-centered hospitality is uncovered.
Every inch of wall space is covered by sports flags, license platesand celebrity-signed athletic memorabilia. Lights flood the two main rooms of the restaurant/ bar. As for televisions, each booth has its own TV, just in case the enormous set in the middle of the room isn't showcasing your game of choice.
A pool table sits in the corner awaiting two competitive customers and a game of its own. During the summer, the bar extends outside to a large deck.
Almost all menu items at TK's are priced under $10.00. With items like fried ravioli, California cobb salad, and a chicken Philly wrap. TK's gastronomical highlight are their wings. These tasty chicken pieces come in 30 different flavors, such as "suicide", and "spicy honeyaki," and six different serving sizes, including the 100 piece "super platter." If you come to eat on your birthday, you can get your age in free wings. Monday: Texas Hold 'Em Nite and Monday Night Football, 7 p.m.-close with $3 Coors Lite Bottles & $3.25 Coors Lite Drafts
Tues. & Thurs.: Wing Nite, 7 p.m.-midnight with $7 Coors Lite pitchers & 20 cent wings
