Rocky Neck's beach provides something other touristy beaches don't: preserved nature at its best. You'll think you're on the set of Jurassic Park when you enter the park, driving past a sea of velvety green trees and foliage and past marshes with long reedy plants. There are two entrances to the beach. Both sides of the mile-long beach are equally nice, with soft, white sand free of trash. And thanks to Long Island acting as a barrier to the Atlantic Ocean, the water is clear and calm. Seagulls rule the beach as they swoop into the water, looking for crabs and other sources of protein. They squawk loudly, too, although not as loud as the train that passes right behind the thin beach area. This is definitely a noisy beach.
