Dan Deacon's Poster Contest to End All Poster Contests

Identify all 243 cartoon characters in Dan Deacon's fall tour poster and you could score some sweet prizes.

Dan Deacon is back with a new album of noisy dance pop ("Bromst") and a new tour with pals Nuclear Power Plants, which rolls into Pearl Street in Deacon's veggie oil-powered bus on Tuesday.

Deacon's live show is a site to behold, and this fall he's got an insane tour poster–and accompanying contest–to match it, courtesy of Post Typography. It's become trendy for artists to ask fans to design tour posters for them, but not Deacon. This poster is complete, and your mission is to ID all 243 cartoon characters portrayed within it. If you're the first to do so by the Nov. 17 deadline, you'll score:

1. $500 cash
2. A portrait of you painted by Dan Deacon
3. One of the last copies of "Wham City" box set #1
4. A copy of each of Dan Deacon's first eight impossible-to-find releases (silly hat vs egale hat, meetle mice, goose on the loose, a green cobra is awesome vs the sun, porkypig, twacky cats, live 2003, acorn master)
