A diverse crowd of all ages jammed into Fort Adams State Park for the first day of the 50th anniversary edition of the Newport Folk Festival. Fans were treated to an eclectic lineup and amazing weather, with main stage sets from Pete Seeger, the Decemberists, Fleet Foxes, Gillian Welch, the Avett Brothers, Billy Bragg and Tift Merritt.
