Originally opened in 1776, The Griswold Inn is the oldest continually operated inn in the United States. At the Gris, fine wine is paired with good food in a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. The decor is reminiscent of a chic ocean liner dining room. The separate wine bar is sophisticated and comfortable. The menu puts a modern spin on local foods and recipes, made with fresh seafood and New England game. The Tap Room, constructed in 1738 as a school house and later added to the inn, makes an ideal location for a relaxed after-dinner drink, or two.
