Haveli India

Haveli India may just be the most popular Indian restaurant in the area. Every table is usually full, as a nonstop flow of people—from Wesleyan students to older couples to large families—seem to throng the restaurant. "Haveli" is a term that refers to royal houses, where the in-crowd of ancient India would gather to be shamelessly pampered by hosts of entertainers and accomplished chefs. The goal of chef and owner Laxman Sharma is to create a modern-day haveli for the everyday folk, dressed in blue jeans rather than gold, but no less deserving of earnest service and cuisine. The entrée selection is wide, including all the Indian restaurant staples as well as a few less common picks.
