Carbone's Ristorante

I had never been to Carbone's but with The Taste of Hartford in full swing, I took the opportunity to try the place out. Despite being packed the night we were there, the food and the service were excellent. We had a drink at the bar while waiting for a table and loved the relaxed, friendly bartender and welcoming atmosphere. Our server - sorry, forgot his name - was great. He was very informative while not being too intrusive and really knew his wine which he helped us choose. I would highly recommend Carbone's. We will definitely be back!

Adventure is the name of the game here. When we went (and we've been back several times since) we were enticed by the seven course roman dinner. It's certainly a lot of food but between the table side crafted salads and their deliciously sourced ingredients it more than deserves the price tag it carries. A note: raw egg ceasar salad is not for the faint of heart, but after trying it, I wouldn't have it any other way.
The only negative thing I can say is that it's not located in a particularly scenic part of Hartford. That's not to say it's a scary part of the city, just ugly. The parking is a bit crazy, mostly because the place is always packed.

I hadn't been to Carbone's in ages but met some girlfriends there the other night. What started out as a drink turned into dinner at the bar. Paul the bartender took great care of us and the food was out of this world. I forgot how good great Italian cuisine can be. We had THE best time. Everyone was so friendly, I felt like one of the regulars. Just a wonderful atmosphere to spend an evening with friends - I highly recommend it!

I hadn't been to Carbone's in ages. Sometimes I forget they are just down on Franklin Ave. A friend took me to dinner there last week and we both had the $35, 7-course Roman Dinner. I was a bit skeptical because I couldn't imagine what they could serve for that price, but boy was I impressed. I consider myself a bit of a "foodie" and don't say this lightly. Every course was great. Every one! I was stuffed as one might imagine, but it didn't stop me from eating it all! We had a great time. Our server was really great, friendly but not too intrusive. We sat in a booth and had wonderful Italian wine with our meal. It was really fun, and relaxing - one of the best times I've had out in a while. I would recommend Carbone's to anyone and will probably take my mom there for her birthday!

Come on! Carbone's is and has always been the best. I have neverhad a bad or even substandard meal. They redecorated beautifully and they treat you like gold. Tableside service was fun and delicious. I love going to Carbone's. It's so nice that you can always depend on them. Great job Vinnie and Olivia!!!! Looks like you'll be around another 70 years !!!

I have always thought of Carbone's for special occaisions, so when my husband suggested that we treat ourselves 'for no reason' I was thrilled. We hadn't been there in a while and I had forgotten how fun it was to get dressed and get out to a classy, quiet night out. I had also forgotten how great it is to have a warm spinach salad prepared in front of our table (which made me insist on picking a dessert that was 'custom made' too). Entrees were excellent and very reasonable price-wise, and parking was a snap. We'll be back soon!
