At this slightly overpriced and not entirely consistent family-style Italian restaurant in Enfield, the opera theme only extends as far as the décor: framed posters of favorite Verdi and Puccini classics hang on the walls. It doesn’t really apply to the music. We didn’t hear any florid arias or dramatic overtures on the stereo. Rather, the music consisted of 70s light classics like Joni Mitchell, America and Jackson Browne. Figaro is a brass-rail-and-ferns kind of place. In business for more than 30 years, the restaurant has a certain rustic charm, despite a few flaws. Hearty Italian entrees are largely bright spots, though lacking originality and inventiveness.
