Zocco's Italian Deli & Pizza

A pizza restaurant in a strip mall is old news for most takeout fans, but the garlic-fragrant air in the parking lot by this eatery draws many inside. A menu of Italian-American comfort-food standards -- grinders, pizza pies and calzones --  and a number of surprises keep customers coming back, either to eat in or take out. Zocco's salads go way beyond the typical pale-iceberg-and-tomato variety found at so many pizza shops, while the calzones are large envelopes of pizza dough filled with creamy ricotta, topped with sauce a slow simmered, slightly sweet tomato sauce. Other entree choices include a variety of pasta dishes, chicken and eggplant Parmesan, burgers, fish and chips, homemade soups and sandwiches.
