First look: Max Burger

Walking out of Max Burger on a recent weeknight, arms laden with bags of leftovers to share with my roommate, I overheard a woman summing up the new West Hartford Center restaurant in better words than I ever could.

“You’ll never get in, it’s jammed!” she yelled across the parking lot to a friend she was meeting for dinner. “Well actually, you might as well ask how long [of a wait] it will be for two.”

Max Burger is clearly well worth the wait for many gourmet burger fiends, as the much-hyped restaurant was overflowing with good food, good drinks and good friends at 6 p.m. on a Tuesday, less than four days after opening its doors for business. As demonstrated by the hoards of hungry diners waiting, it seems this latest venture by the Max Restaurant Group has found a happy home in the Center.
