A shoreline restaurant on the Madison-Guilford line, Friends & Company is a spirit-lifting as well as appetite-satisfying destination for diners on the go or those with the time to sit. Entree choices range from Tuscan Chicken with plum tomatoes, green olives and capers over broccoli rabe to Salmon in Parchment with new potatoes and veggies. Entrees are accompanied by homemade bread and soup of the day or salad. In fact, the restaurant is well-known for its fresh, herbed soft loaf and a lovely dark bread, both sold for $3 a loaf, along with other grab-and-go items, including mammoth homemade oatmeal raisin or chocolate chip cookies ($2) and honey-toasted sunflower seeds ($4.50).
