Unhitched review
Do you miss the single life?

Sure, we all have fleeting desires to experience those carefree days again. But then we remember the horrors of dating: those awkward silences, that should-I-or-shouldn't-I kiss goodnight, the 'bacne.'

But instead of splitting with your honey, you can now live vicariously through the four freshly-single characters of Fox's new comedy "Unhitched" as they discover singledom all over again. You’ll soon remember why you’re putting up with your significant other’s horrid habits (Does he really always have to chew that loudly?) and aren't back out in the dating pool.

Who’s that? "The Office" alum Rashida Jones brings her comedic prowess to this show as Kate, a divorce lawyer and the only girl of the group. The remainder of the foursome features Craig Bierko ("Boston Legal") as the 40-year-old heartbroken Jack “Gator” Gately, whose wife cheated on him with a member of Cirque du Soliel; Shaun Majumder ("Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle") as the recently-divorced Dr. Freddy Sahgal; and Johnny Sneed as horny, three-time divorcee Tommy. That's a whole lotta divorcin'!

Buzzed about: This show is the Farrelly Brothers' ("Dumb and Dumber," "Shallow Hal") first entrée into television. They’re stepping in as executive producers—Peter Farrelly also directs the occasional episode—and with the help of seasoned writers like Mike Sikowitz ("Friends," "Grounded for Life"), they’re hoping for a successful first attempt.

The “ooh” factor: The cast of rotating characters is outrageous. From leprechauns and hookers to nymphomanics and air guitarists, the real laughs come when you remember how their experiences parallel your own. Or maybe it’s just us who once dated a guy covered in comic book tattoos...?

The "eh" factor: The guys are pathetic and funny, but the women feel flat and desperate. Here’s hoping the writers can flesh out the female characters soon.

The verdict: This is definitely nowhere in the same league as the Farrelly Brothers' "There's Something About Mary," and we think you could find plenty of better ways of spending your Sunday night. Preparing your taxes early, perhaps?

"Unhitched" premieres Sunday, March 2 at 9:30 p.m./8:30c on FOX.
